The Websites Collection Folder, under the More tab, isolates social media profiles that direct a consumer to a website that has not been approved by the financial institution. This Collection Folder is often where rogue custom websites, links to other businesses, and URL typos are flagged for review.

In the Websites Collection Folder, social media profiles and the websites listed on them are brought in for review (highlighted in yellow). When a user clicks the website link, a new window will open and allow the user to inspect the full website in their browser. After a website has been reviewed, users can select the down arrow (highlighted in pink) to see the Monitoring Options.

There are 3 possible paths for resolving a Websites Collection Folder item:

  1. Mark as Trusted: if the website is for a corporate website that is controlled by the company, users can select the Monitoring Option as Trusted. Websites that are added to the archival schedule as Trusted will have their content automatically saved to the ActiveComply archive, but will not be monitored or flagged for Trigger Terms. After adding the website, the profile can be Cleared from the Websites Collection Folder.

    • Websites added as Trusted will reflect a blue checkmark.

  2. Mark as Monitoring: if the website is controlled by an individual employee, users can select the Monitoring Option as Monitoring. Websites that are added to the archival schedule as Monitoring will have their content automatically saved to the ActiveComply archive and will also be monitored & flagged for Trigger Terms.
After adding the website, the profile can be Cleared from the Websites Collection Folder.

    • Websites added as Monitoring will reflect a green checkmark.

  3. Corrective Action: if the website is in violation of a regulation or company policy, users can add notes to the bottom of the Profile Card to document what the issue is and what corrective actions steps are being taken. Users can chose to leave these items in the Websites Collection Folder until they are resolved or use the Move To feature to move items into another Collection Folder to suit work flow/reporting processes.

    Vanity Domains & Vanity URLs

Some websites listed on social media profiles are what is known as vanity domains & vanity URLs. The core function of these URL modifications are to either help simplify a complicated URL, create a memorable website name, or track the number of visitors to a website. When one of these is used, a consumer would click on one listed website and would ultimately be redirected to another. By selecting the down arrow (highlighted in pink above) users can see if the URL listed resolves to another website.

    For example:

    Vanity URL - www.theloangal.com

    will forward to...

Websites that make use of these URL modifications should still be added to the archival schedule as applicable.
