As a part of SocialShield's Profile Checkup feature, the system will flag any social media profiles that direct a consumer to a website that has not been approved by the financial institution. This flag will help highlight rogue custom websites, links to other businesses, and URL typos for review.

When a user clicks the website link, a new window will open and allow the user to inspect the full website in their browser. After a website has been reviewed, there are 2 possible paths for resolving an unapproved website flag:

  1. For Allowed Websites - Clear: if a website has been flagged but is acceptable for use, users may elect to add the website to the system as Trusted using the blue down arrow (highlighted in purple) and may clear the individual blue profile flag.

    • Websites added as Trusted will reflect a blue checkmark.

  2. For Disallowed Websites - Ticket: for truly disallowed websites, users can use the Ticket function to send corrective action the same way other profile checkup flags are sent. The flag will clear when a corrective action Ticket is sent.

Vanity Domains & Vanity URLs

Some websites listed on social media profiles are what is known as vanity domains & vanity URLs. The core function of these URL modifications are to either help simplify a complicated URL, create a memorable website name, or track the number of visitors to a website. When one of these is used, a consumer would click on one listed website and would ultimately be redirected to another. By selecting the blue down arrow users can see if the URL listed resolves to another website.

For example:

Vanity URL - www.theloangal.com

will forward to...

Websites that make use of these URL modifications should still be added to the archival schedule as applicable.
