A Trigger Term (which may include watchlist words, keyword terms, and actual triggering terms under TILA) is a word or phrase that is monitored and flagged within a SocialShield account. Trigger Terms are intended to help compliance and marketing teams easily isolate and quickly evaluate financial product advertising. Through the use of Trigger Terms, normal everyday posts on social media with no product advertising may be excluded from review.

SocialShield has an existing Trigger Term bank with words and phrases of interest to the financial industry automatically added to each account. The below screenshot showcases how a Trigger Term can be built within the system using a certain set of rules. Users should utilize the Advanced Trigger Term Search Engine when creating new Trigger Terms in the system.
