WebCompass Discovery is the page where a User can view, filter, and select WebCompass monitoring status for websites matching Discovery Terms.

Note: The websites in WebCompass Discovery are not being monitored and Website Rules are not applied until the User chooses to enable Partial or Full Monitoring.

Discovery Statuses

  • Open: This status shows websites that were found matching Discovery Term(s) and a monitoring action has not been made by the User.

  • Pending: This status shows websites that may have been reviewed, but a User has decided the website may need further evaluation regarding its monitoring status.

  • Closed: This status shows websites that have been processed through an Action Button or a User has manually changed the status to Closed.

Grid View

The Grid View allows the User to see an overview of the websites found.

By default, the Grid View allows the User to see, filter, and sort the Host, Rule Match, Tags, Title, and Date Found. To select and show different columns, the User may select the “Columns Hidden” and customize what fields they wish to see.

Users can export the Discovery Grid View to a CSV file by selecting the "Download" button. Users can choose to export the Visible Columns or All Columns.

Discovery Flyout

Eye: This icon will populate a focused flyout with a preview of the website, Action Buttons, and an option to manually change the Discovery Status.

Action Buttons

Globe: This button enables Full Monitoring and applies Website Rules to the entire website.

Page: This button enables Partial Monitoring and applies Website Rules to an individual page/URL on a website.

Tag: This button gives the ability to create and assign tags to assist with workflow throughout WebCompass. This button will not change the Discovery Status.

Garbage Can: This button ignores an individual page/URL on a website. Other pages from the website may still populate in Discovery.

Red Icon: This button ignores an entire website. *Warning: Any pages from the website will be ignored and will never populate in Discovery.*
