ActiveComply monitors company & individual employee social media for regulatory compliance and brand reputation issues. For the majority of social media platforms included in the system, ActiveComply is able to monitor social media activity without needing account holder permissions. For the social media platform LinkedIn, as an API requirement, ActiveComply must receive the LinkedIn account owners permission to monitor for post content and profile compliance. LinkedIn accounts may be added to the ActiveComply system 2 different ways:

  1. Request monitoring access using the LinkedIn Invitation Link

  2. Request monitoring access by adding the Asset manually

Option 1: Monitoring LinkedIns Using the Invitation Link

The LinkedIn Invitation Link is the easiest way to incorporate a large amount of LinkedIn accounts into the system for monitoring. Users may access the account's LinkedIn Invitation Link from the Account Settings page. Users may use the Copy button to copy the invitation link to their clipboard and send the one link out en-masse to all licensed employees that they want to incorporate into the system. As employees begin granting access, LinkedIn Assets will appear on the Assets Page in the account.

Option 2: Monitoring LinkedIns by Manually Adding Assets

Just as users may add other social media platform accounts to the ActiveComply system manually, the same is true for LinkedIn profiles. To do so, users may visit the Assets Page, use the Add button, and paste in the LinkedIn profile URL. From the popup, users may then utilize the Request Access button to plug in the employee's contact email. Using the Request Access button will result in the licensed employee receiving an automated invitation email from the system. By using this method, users will see LinkedIn Assets in the account instantly upon adding with the yellow caution symbol indicating that the Asset still needs account permissions granted by employee.

The Employee Permissions Process

Licensed employees will receive the below automated email from [email protected] inviting them to grant ActiveComply access to LinkedIn once an invitation is sent from the ActiveComply system:

Once the license employee clicks on the LinkedIn Invitation Link, or the link provided in the automated email, they will be brought to the Invitation Page where they will enter their individual NMLS ID and their work email. Additional information is provided to the license employee on the right-side of the screen.

After inputting their credentials, employees will be prompted to sign into their LinkedIn account and to grant ActiveComply the ability to monitor using the Allow button:

After granting permissions, the employee will see the below success screen. LinkedIn monitoring permissions will need to be renewed by the LinkedIn account owner annually for monitoring to continue. ActiveComply will automatically send a permissions renewal email to the licensed employee when permissions are near expiration.

LinkedIn Assets in the System

After using the Request Access button in the system, LinkedIn social media profiles will be added to the Assets page with a yellow caution icon. This indicates that the Asset has been added to the system, but that the LinkedIn account owner has not yet granted permissions for automated monitoring. Until access is granted, the Asset will not reflect any profile compliance fails or flag any post content for review.

After monitoring permissions have been received, LinkedIn Assets will update to include profile photo and cover photo information. LinkedIn Assets with granted permissions will be monitored for both profile compliance issues and post content alerts.
